If your yearly resolution has consistently been to lose those last five pounds or finally eliminate those problem areas, but you haven’t been successful, we want to introduce you to a treatment that will change everything. At Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, we want to introduce you to a body contouring treatment that can finally eliminate stubborn fat: TruSculpt ID.

How Quickly Does TruSculpt ID Work?

Once you experience a TruSculpt ID body contouring treatment session, you will be on the way to a tighter and more toned midsection. You can expect to see visible results within four to 12 weeks of your initial treatment session. As soon as your treatment session is over, your body will begin working to eliminate the fat cells that the treatment device has effectively broken down.

Results vary among patients regarding the rate at which their body eliminates this metabolic waste from the system. The rate at which your results appear depends on the amount of fat you choose to treat and the number of recommended treatment sessions you complete.

Tracking Your Results

It’s important to note that this treatment does not deliver instant results, and it will take time for your body to eliminate those broken down fat cells through the lymphatic system. However, because monitoring fat loss is similar to watching paint dry, there are some steps you can take to avoid getting discouraged during the waiting process.

This process does require patience, but when you put in the work to track your progress, you will see changes in your body week to week that will continue to improve over time.

Take Pictures

One of the best ways to track your progress over time is by taking pictures and comparing the before picture with your after pictures. It’s important that you take a before picture prior to your treatment to have a baseline. Then, each week, stand in the same position in the same clothing and document your body as it changes.

With each week, you’ll see a more remarkable improvement in your problem areas when you compare your current photo to your original. Doing so will provide you with some visible evidence that the changes brought on by this treatment are real, natural, and will continue to improve over time.

Take Measurements

If you don’t have a good tape measure, now is the time to invest in one. Each week, take measurements of your midsection. Wrap the measuring take around your midsection to get your waist circumference measurements each week.

As you do this, you can record your measurements as your body gradually works to reduce the total amount of fat volume in that treatment area. Taking measurements is a good way to track your progress and see tangible evidence that your body is indeed changing for the better.

Follow Your Treatment Plan

Some patients only need one session to achieve their desired results, but others will need more than one. One of our experts will evaluate your problem areas and give you a better idea of what it will take to achieve your desired results. Once you understand the process of targeting and eliminating stubborn fat in your problem areas, it’s important that you commit to the recommended number of sessions.

When you schedule and attend each session, you will achieve the best results. When you trust our experts and the process, you will be able to enjoy your incredible results in the weeks following your treatment. An initial consultation with one of our body contouring experts is the best way to find out not only more about this treatment and how it works but how it can work for you and when you can expect to see changes in your problem areas.

What Is TruSculpt ID?

TruSculpt ID is an effective, painless, non-invasive body contouring treatment that can finally address stubborn fat in the midsection that has been preventing you from looking and feeling your best for years. If you have pinchable fat in and around your midsection that won’t respond to your diet or workouts, this treatment can change everything.

It uses a safe, non-invasive treatment device to initiate a natural process that your body then completes in the weeks following your treatment. You’ll achieve natural and noticeable results progressively over time.

Does It Really Work?

If this treatment sounds too good to be true, we want to convince you otherwise by explaining the scientific premise and why it works, and why this is a treatment that you can trust. TruSculpt ID works according to a scientific principle. Fat cells can only survive certain temperatures. When heated, they experience apoptosis, also known as cell death.

This device uses radiofrequency energy to heat the adipose tissue in your problem areas to a temperature that it cannot withstand. The result is the death of those fat cells in your problem area.

Trusting the Body’s Natural Processes

Once the body responds to the work done by the device and eliminates those fat cells, the area will become tighter and more toned and will have significantly reduced fat volume. One of the benefits of this treatment is that the device emits radiofrequency energy at controlled temperatures that target the fat cells without harming the surrounding area.

The entire treatment is virtually painless, and all you will feel is a warming sensation as the device does its work. This process is an effective, painless, results-driven treatment that will help you achieve some incredible results. It’s also one of the few things in life that sounds too good to be true but isn’t.

What Areas Can It Treat?

This treatment is designed to address stubborn fat located on the abdomen. It can address fat on the front, upper, lower, and sides of the abdomen, the area often referred to as the love handles or the flanks. The abdomen is a problem area for most people who suffer from stubborn fat, but in as little as a 15-minute treatment session, you can target that abdominal fat and eliminate it for good.

What Happens During the Treatment Process?

Once you arrive at our office and are situated in a treatment room, we will prepare your treatment area and begin the session. Our technician will apply the treatment device directly to the skin on your abdomen. During the session, you’ll feel pulsing sensations as radiofrequency energy emits from the device and bypasses your skin’s surface to the deeper adipose layers.

You’ll feel a warming sensation in the deep layers of your skin as the radiofrequency energy works to break down fat cells. This treatment is completely customizable, so our technician can adjust the treatment temperature as needed to help you maintain comfort throughout the session. You won’t need any topical numbing cream to endure this treatment but instead can enjoy a comfortable treatment that will help you achieve some incredible, noticeable results.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect?

Clinical studies have shown that this treatment is effective and delivers real results. On average, patients experience up to a 24% fat loss in their treatment area. That means you’ll have 24% less fat volume than you did before beginning the treatment process. This noticeable decrease in fat volume will help you achieve a  leaner and more defined-looking midsection.

Losing fat around the midsection will help your abdominal muscles pop, so if you’ve been working hard to build up your abs and feel like you haven’t seen results, this treatment will help you see all the benefits of your hard work.

Who Is a Candidate?

The best candidates for TruSculpt ID are men and women who want to target stubborn fat below the skin surface that won’t respond to their diet and exercise routine. This treatment is a body sculpting treatment, not a weight loss procedure. Men and women should be at a healthy weight and understand the importance of maintaining their results long-term through a commitment to a healthy lifestyle and avoiding weight gain post-treatment.

Who Isn’t a Good Candidate?

Some patients will not qualify for this treatment due to safety precautions, so it’s important that before we schedule your session, you first schedule an initial consultation. Our experts will review your medical history and ensure that this treatment is a safe and effective option for you.

Pregnant or nursing women are not eligible for treatment and patients who have tumors in their planned treatment area. Additionally, patients who have a cardiac pacemaker will not qualify for the treatment, nor will those who have metal implantation devices in their bodies.

If you want to address stubborn fat on the midsection and increase your confidence, we can help. Contact us today at Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, to schedule your initial consultation.

How Is Cutera Enlighten So Effective? https://princetonaesthetics.com/how-is-cutera-enlighten-so-effective/ Wed, 15 Dec 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://p.mylstone.net/how-is-cutera-enlighten-so-effective/ Cutera enlighten is a one-stop treatment for several different skin concerns. Whether you want to address aging skin or have a tattoo you’re sick of, this treatment could be a good fit for you. Our team at Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, is here with some helpful information on this treatment so you can make the right call for your needs.

How Is Cutera Enlighten So Effective?

Pico Technology

The Pico Technology used by Cutera Enlighten is powerfully versatile. It utilizes multiple wavelengths to cover a wide range of issues. One of these wavelengths is the first of its kind, a true red picosecond wavelength. That means it can more effectively target unwanted red pigment, as well as other pigments depending on your needs.

Revitalization

In fewer than three sessions, this treatment can target and shatter unwanted pigment across the face, encouraging a more even skin tone. By triggering dermal disruption, it encourages the skin to revitalize itself for a healthy, youthful glow. It works on all skin types.

What Is It Used For?

Cutera Enlighten Can Be Used for Tattoo Removal

There are many reasons why someone may find themselves with a tattoo they no longer want. If you’re in that position, Cutera Enlighten may be the solution you’ve been looking for. The advanced laser technology this treatment applies is ideal for tattoo removal.

It offers an easier and more effective option when compared to many of the traditional tattoo removal treatments. This can save the patient time, effort, and frustration. It can handle even the toughest ink colors, and has the ability to fade them out in fewer treatments than some of the competition.

Comparing This Treatment to Alternative Tattoo Removal Options

Dermabrasion

The use of friction is a common method employed for tattoo removal. Dermabrasion uses friction to remove the uppermost layers of skin, which fades the tattoo as a result. Multiple treatments are commonly needed.

Dermabrasion often requires a lengthy recovery time, which can draw out the tattoo removal process. There is also a risk for swelling and infection if this treatment isn’t done carefully.

Salabrasion

Salabrasion uses salt, water, and friction to get the job done. The skin is scrubbed for anywhere between 30 and 40 minutes per session, until the outer layers of the skin are stripped. The process is repeated until the tattoo completely fades out.

While it may eventually work, it is not a commonly recommended course of treatment. It can be pretty rough on the skin and may leave scarring.

Surgical Removal

Having the tattooed skin removed entirely is one way to get the job done. This surgical procedure will either require enough skin to stretch over the missing patch, or a skin graft.

DIY Creams

If you’ve found some tattoo removal creams for sale online, it might be tempting to give them a try and see if you can avoid professional treatment altogether. If being able to remove a tattoo at home sounds too good to be true, you’d be right about that. This can be a very risky thing to do when it comes to the lasting health of your skin.

Tattoo removal creams usually contain different acids, ingredients that really shouldn’t be applied without professional advice and supervision. Depending on where you source your creams, the ingredients may not even be safe or regulated. Sometimes these creams do nothing, while other times they may wreak permanent havoc on the skin by damaging or discoloring it. This leaves the individual in even worse shape than before, with a longer treatment ahead of them to correct the damage.

Seek Out the Care Your Skin Deserves

There’s no good reason to seek out riskier treatments when a safer, more effective treatment option exists. By seeking out professional help, you can have your tattoo removal done right the first time, and enjoy permanent, healthy results.

Tattoo Removal Benefits

Confidence

A patient with an unwanted tattoo may find the tattoo embarrassing or just an annoyance. In other cases, a tattoo may be a daily, painful reminder.

Regardless of the “why,” people who don’t like the appearance of their tattoo may try to cover them up with layers of makeup, or clothing. For these people, having the tattoo removed entirely can help them feel more confident and comfortable in their skin.

Special Occasions

If you don’t like your tattoo, but have a special event like a wedding coming up, you may find yourself limiting your clothing options to try to hide the tattoo. We want you to be able to look back on your pictures with a smile. Scheduling your tattoo removal appointments ahead of time can mean you can focus on finding the perfect outfit and put the tattoo out of your mind.

Career Options

If you have a tattoo you’re self-conscious of, it may make you hesitate to go after that dream job. If you’re concerned about an unwanted tattoo standing in the way of your career of choice, it may be time to consider tattoo removal. It can be one less thing to worry about as you take the next step in your newest venture.

Moving On

Sometimes friends or couples will get matching tattoos, which can be a beautiful statement. However, if the friendship or relationship has ended, this tattoo may lose its appeal. Having the tattoo removed may help you feel like you can start over with a clear slate.

Cutera Enlighten Can Be Used for Other Skin Concerns Too

Aging Skin

There are a lot of skin resurfacing and revitalization treatments out there. That’s why Cutera has taken great pains to develop treatments that offer clinically proven results. The versatility of this treatment makes it easy to adjust for each patient’s needs and desires.

This proven treatment is a great way to encourage a more youthful skin tone, and smooth over the signs of aging skin.

Benign Pigmented Lesions

The term benign pigmented lesions stands for areas of the skin that are affected by different levels of melanin. It could affect large or small areas of the face, and it can range in color and appearance. It’s important to seek out the advice of a dermatologist when diagnosing benign pigmented lesions, to be absolutely sure they are, in fact, benign.

When you know the affected areas are safe to treat, this treatment can help break up that unwanted pigment. Common types of benign lesions may include:

  • Freckles
  • Sun damage
  • Melasma
  • Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Seborrhoeic keratoses

Acne Scars

Almost everyone has to deal with acne at some point, and many affected teenagers assume that once they reach adulthood, they’ll be left with beautiful, silky-smooth skin. Unfortunately, acne can leave its mark far into adulthood by way of acne scars.

One reason professional treatment for acne scars can be so helpful is by offering an effective solution, while also taking great care to protect the health of your skin. Rather than taking a risk on an unproven acne scar remedy, or wasting money going from one treatment to another, seeking out professional help can give you lasting results.

Enlarged Pores

There are several reasons your pores may be looking larger than before. Oil, dead skin, and other material can become lodged in our pores over time. Even if you have the best facial care regimen in the world, sometimes it can be hard to safely and properly exfoliate at home, which means there may be material trapped in your pores.

Skin laxity can also play a role. As skin begins to age, it loses some of the elasticity youthful skin is known for. When skin starts to sag as a result, it can stretch the pores and make them appear larger. This treatment can help tackle both possible causes, by resurfacing the skin and promoting more elastin and collagen levels.

Skin Texture and Quality Concerns

Speaking of elastin and collagen, they’re pretty important for healthy skin. Collagen is considered one of the “building blocks” of the skin, and elastin is a helpful factor in keeping our skin hydrated and supple. Think of a rubber band. When you stretch it and let go, it snaps back into place. That’s part of what elastin does for our skin.

As we age, elastin and collagen levels naturally decrease, but there are ways to boost them back up again. This gentle resurfacing process tells the body to create and send more elastin and collagen to the treated areas. This can produce lasting visual benefits.

How Often Should You Get Skin Revitalization Treatments? https://princetonaesthetics.com/how-often-should-you-get-skin-revitalization-treatments/ Fri, 10 Dec 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://p.mylstone.net/how-often-should-you-get-skin-revitalization-treatments/ Skin revitalization entails more than just improving the appearance of the skin. It’s a treatment that can perfect the skin. We can use it to remove unwanted tattoos as well as different pigmentation issues on the skin. If you want to get your skin back after a tattoo or create a more uniform skin tone, we can help. At Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, we offer an effective treatment that meets the needs of patients with all different pigmentation concerns.

How Often Should You Get Skin Revitalization Treatments?

The total number of skin revitalization treatments you should schedule and when you should schedule them will vary based on your ultimate goals. Those seeking this treatment to remove an unwanted tattoo must follow a specific protocol recommended by one of our technicians in order to completely remove that tattoo.

Those who want to address discoloration and pigmentation issues on their skin may need fewer treatment sessions than those who want to remove a tattoo.

Designing Your Unique Treatment Plan

The best way to determine the number of treatments you should schedule to achieve your goals is by scheduling a consultation here at our office. Every patient is different, and even two patients who both want to remove tattoos will require a unique treatment plan based on the size, color, and location of that tattoo they want to remove.

An initial consultation will allow our experts to evaluate your area of concern in a comfortable in-person setting so that we can custom tailor a treatment plan to help you reach your aesthetic goals.

Our Skin Revitalization Treatment

At Princeton Aesthetics, we offer skin revitalization treatments with PICO Genesis. This innovative and effective laser device utilizes two wavelengths delivered in short pulses to transform and perfect the skin.

One of the benefits of this treatment is that it can help transform the skin by its photomechanical methods and remodel the deeper layers of the skin called the dermis without affecting the surrounding area in any negative ways. Additionally, you will achieve your desired result in fewer treatment sessions than you would were you to undergo treatment with other similar devices.

PICO Genesis

PICO Genesis is a laser treatment that uses picosecond lasers. Initially, picosecond lasers were specifically designed for tattoo removal. However, studies and trials revealed that this type of laser treatment could also improve the skin by addressing hyperpigmentation, creating a more uniform skin tone, and increasing the body’s collagen production.

PICO Genesis Lasers Versus Everything Else

Traditional laser treatments utilize heat energy to address skin discoloration. However, the thermal heat energy produced by those lasers has the potential to damage the surrounding tissue. These lasers can lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is the opposite effect you want, especially if you are trying to treat hyperpigmentation in the first place.

This laser is so effective because it won’t affect the surrounding skin, but it will help you reach your aesthetic goals in fewer treatments without any pain or discomfort. There is no thermal energy used during the treatment process, so this laser can effectively eradicate unwanted pigment without causing any adverse side effects or reactions.

What Does PICO Genesis Treat?

PICO Genesis provides us with an effective way to treat multiple skin imperfections and unwanted tattoos. Specifically, this treatment can help improve the appearance of the skin by breaking up excess pigment. It shatters the pigment in the skin into tiny particles that your body then eliminates as waste through the lymphatic system. In doing so, it can remove:

  • Sun damage
  • Brown spots
  • Age spots
  • Melasma
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Hyperpigmentation

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most patients only need one or two treatments to achieve their desired results. Depending on your specific concern, the most you may need is five treatments. We typically schedule treatments with two weeks between each to help you reach your skincare and goals as quickly as possible.

Is It Safe?

PICO Genesis is one of if not the safest laser treatments because of the way that it utilizes quick laser pulses to address the skin and, in doing so, does not damage any surrounding tissue. Since it does not use the same thermal energy as most laser devices, you won’t have to be worried about any skin damage to the surrounding area post-treatment.

Additionally, you can rest assured that our technicians are fully trained in the PICO Genesis Treatment device and know how to utilize it to address your unique skin concerns.

When Will I See Results?

You will see a change in your unwanted skin pigment within one to two treatment sessions.

What Are the Treatment Benefits?

There Are No Side Effects

When you schedule one of our skin revitalization treatments with PICO Genesis, you won’t have to worry about any side effects or adverse reactions. Instead, you will achieve noticeable results. If you want to improve your skin and address an unwanted tattoo or another form of skin pigmentation or a skin irregularity, this laser treatment is the perfect option to do so.

There Are No Side Effects

Whether you want to address unwanted pigmented lesions, hyperpigmentation, or an unwanted tattoo, you won’t have to spend a significant amount of time at our office for treatment sessions. Each treatment session takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and then you can resume your normal daily activities knowing that you are well on your way to transforming your skin.

You Will Achieve Dramatic Results

Once you undergo this treatment, you won’t have to carefully study your skin in the mirror to see if it actually worked. You will see changes in your tattoo, unwanted pigmented spots, or skin irregularities. Your skin will change over time, and you will be thrilled with how radiant and revitalized your skin looks.

It Can Be Used in Multiple Areas

Whether you want to treat skin irregularities and hyperpigmentation on your face or in other areas of the body, this specific laser can help address each of your cosmetic concerns. You can use it to treat multiple areas, both on the face and body, or one specific area. When you schedule your consultation, be sure to address each area of concern so that we can include it in your treatment plan and help you reach your skincare goals as quickly as possible.

There’s No Risk of Post-Treatment Inflammation

Many laser treatments require that you go into hiding in the days following your treatment. They make the skin look irritated, red, and inflamed. However, when you schedule a skin revitalization treatment with PICO Genesis, you won’t have to worry about inflammation or irritation. You will have a radiant post-treatment glow, and your results will continue to improve as you follow the recommended treatment protocol.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Another one of the benefits of PICO Genesis is that it can successfully treat all different skin types. Regardless of whether you have normal or more sensitive skin, you can safely schedule a treatment without worrying about how your skin will react. The best candidates for this treatment include patients who no longer want a tattoo on their bodies. Also, those with pigmented lesions that are affecting their confidence and their appearance make good treatment candidates.

The best candidates should be in good health and should be free of any bacterial infections or opened wounds in the planned treatment area. Additionally, women who are pregnant or nursing will not qualify for treatment until they are cleared by their primary care physician. This treatment makes a significant difference in the appearance of uneven skin, melasma, different forms of hyperpigmentation, and unwanted tattoos.

Investing in Your Skin

Once you take the step to eliminate that unwanted tattoo or skin lesion, you won’t regret it. This treatment allows you to invest in yourself, and not just in your appearance, but in your confidence. When you feel confident about your skin, you’ll feel more confident in general.

Say Goodbye to Skin Discoloration

Whether you want to get rid of that tattoo that reminds you of your lack of past discretion, or you have stubborn skin pigmentation issues that just won’t respond to topical products, we can design the right treatment plan for you. Contact us today at Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, to learn more about PICO Genesis and to schedule an initial consultation so that we can design a custom-tailored treatment plan that will meet all of the needs of your skin.

Are the Results of PICO Genesis Permanent? https://princetonaesthetics.com/are-the-results-of-pico-genesis-permanent/ Mon, 08 Nov 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://p.mylstone.net/are-the-results-of-pico-genesis-permanent/ Laser treatments are sometimes considered a dime a dozen, but the truth is that some laser treatments are more impressive than others. If you are looking for a treatment that addresses virtually all superficial concerns without harming the surface of the skin, then a laser treatment like PICO Genesis may be an ideal option for you. At Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, we know that PICO treatments can help you achieve all of your aesthetic goals.

Are the Results of PICO Genesis Permanent?

The most common question patients have about this laser system is whether or not the results are permanent. The important thing to remember about PICO Genesis is that the results are gradual and cumulative, so the more treatments you have, the better and longer-lasting your results will be. In other words, to secure “permanent” results, you will need to maintain the results with repeated treatments.

Of course, the longevity of your results will depend on the type of skin concerns that are being treated. Treating pigmented lesions or skin conditions like rosacea can only produce temporary results that last for six to 12 months before fading. This is because skin cells themselves are more vulnerable to pigment changes. The same is true for age-related concerns like fine lines and wrinkles.

Why Scar Removal Results May Be Permanent

That said, some skin conditions can be treated permanently with this laser system. For example, the treatment of scars can be removed entirely or significantly reduced permanently. Some types of acne and other scars can have permanent results because of collagen restructuring.

When collagen is fully reformed, it leaves the skin smooth and evenly textured for several years. Your provider will be able to tell you whether or not your scars can be permanently removed.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

1. How Often Will You Need Follow-Up Appointments?

The best way to maintain the results of your laser treatment is to refresh your skin with annual appointments. Most patients have touch-up treatments with this laser system about once or twice a year based on the skin concern they are treating. For pigmented concerns, you may need treatments as often as six months; for textural concerns like skin laxity and fine lines, you may need maintenance appointments once every year.

2. How Soon Will You See Results?

Most patients will require at least one to two initial treatments to see any significant results with the PICO Genesis treatment. You may need more treatments if your superficial skin concerns are moderate or persistent, such as for the treatment of rosacea. Your appointments will generally be spaced two to four weeks apart to allow for adequate skin healing between treatments.

You will be able to see the results of your treatment a few weeks after your first or second appointment. The results of your treatment will continue to improve as cellular turnover accelerates and as collagen formation matures in the skin. You may not see optimal results from your treatment until at least four weeks after your last appointment.

3. How Does This Treatment Work?

PICO Genesis is a non-ablative laser treatment, which means it utilizes the power of thermal energy to restructure and restore the appearance of the skin. Generally, most of the thermal energy is geared toward stimulating fresh collagen production beneath the skin to plump the appearance of the skin, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and constrict blood vessels to improve the appearance of skin inflammation or discoloration.

The thermal energy generated by this laser system will also accelerate the cellular turnover cycle. By turning over new skin cells, the tone of your skin will improve. Pigmented lesions like melasma or sun damage are also reduced by this treatment because the laser system breaks apart pigment in affected skin cells.

4. What Can Laser Genesis Treat?

This PICO laser system is well-known for its ability to treat a wide variety of aesthetic concerns. Generally, the goal of this treatment is to reduce superficial concerns or appearance-related issues that occur mainly on the surface level of the skin. Some concerns that can be treated with this laser system include:

  • Rosacea
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Acne scars
  • Rough skin texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Broken capillaries

5. Is This Treatment Effective?

Yes, this laser system is highly effective. Although IPL treatments are generally better suited to pigmentation concerns, PICO Genesis is unique among laser treatments because it can treat both pigmentation and textural concerns at once. This means it’s an ideal fit for those who have complex aesthetic concerns or who would like to combine their treatments into a single system.

Part of the reason this treatment is so effective for so many people is that it does not harm the surface of the skin. The thermal energy used for this laser treatment is powerful enough to heat the sub-dermal layers to stimulate the body’s natural regenerative abilities without removing skin cells like other laser treatments. This is why patients who have both pigmentation and textural concerns prefer this laser over IPL systems.

6. What Causes Pigmentation Concerns?

There are several possible causes for pigmentation concerns. Sometimes, genetic factors and your skin tone will determine how vulnerable you are to certain pigmentation, such as sun damage. But other times, pigmentation concerns can be caused by factors such as medications, sun exposure, hormones, or skin conditions.

Hormones

Melasma is a skin condition that causes darker patches of the skin to develop, primarily on the cheeks. Melasma is commonly caused by hormonal changes, particularly in women who are pregnant or menopausal. Treating melasma can be challenging because affected skin cells tend to return even after they are treated.

Sun Damage

Damage from UV rays in the sun, which cause free radicals to affect the integrity of skin cells, is thought to cause about 90% of all skin aging. Damage from the sun can be difficult to reverse because sun damage from several years ago develops over time. Sun damage not only causes pigmentation concerns like dark spots but also causes skin laxity, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Skin Conditions

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is essentially a dark spot that is caused by inflammation in the skin, most commonly from acne. While some post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may fade by itself, some can leave permanent scars on the skin that can be difficult to cover up. If you have had chronic or severe acne, the marks from post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can last for years untreated.

7. Who Are Good Candidates?

The candidates for this laser system will generally include anyone who has mild to moderate superficial concerns related to pigmentation or texture. This treatment is ideal for those who want to comprehensively treat the skin with long-lasting results. If you want to reduce age spots, correct pigmentation, smooth fine lines, or promote a brighter, more radiant skin tone, then this treatment is likely right for you.

Most people with any skin type and skin tone can use this treatment, even those who have sensitive skin. Sometimes this laser system is recommended for the treatment of medical skin conditions, like rosacea or acne. Your provider will be able to determine whether or not this treatment is a good fit for you during your consultation appointment. If you are pregnant or have certain skin conditions, you may not be approved for this treatment.

Perfect Your Skin With PICO Genesis Laser Treatments

Most people have multiple superficial skin concerns, but it’s hard to keep up with multiple treatments to address all of your aesthetic goals. For those who want to improve the overall appearance and texture of the skin, this laser treatment can be an ideal match for your skin concerns. Please contact Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ to schedule your consultation with one of our skin experts today. Skin perfection is easy to achieve with the right advanced laser treatment.

What Is Pigment Correction? https://princetonaesthetics.com/what-is-pigment-correction/ Mon, 01 Nov 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://p.mylstone.net/what-is-pigment-correction/ Uneven skin pigment can be frustrating. For most people, there are two popular fixes – make-up to cover up dark spots and skin-lightening products. But the problem with these methods is that not all make-up is thick enough to correct pigment and skin-lightening products may create additional pigment concerns. At Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, we know that pigment correction treatments can restore the even tone of your skin.

What Is Pigment Correction?

Pigment correction is a series of treatments designed to break down pigmented cells that create dark spots, age spots, or sun damage on the skin. In general, laser treatments are the most effective way to restore the pigment of your skin. Laser treatments such as the original PICO Genesis and the PICO Genesis FX: Enlighten laser systems can gently, but visibly improve the pigment of the skin.

Why Do Pigment Concerns Happen?

Pigment concerns can happen for a few reasons. Hormones, sun damage, medications, and the natural aging process can all affect the pigment of individual skin cells. Some skin conditions, such as acne, can also cause long-lasting pigmentation concerns like post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Women, in particular, may experience hormone-related melasma or dark spots associated with both pregnancy and menopause.

That said, sun damage is the leading cause of pigment concerns. Dermatologists agree that the vast majority of visible aging is caused by unprotected exposure to sunlight throughout a lifetime. Unprotected sun exposure allows the skin to absorb UV rays that create free radicals in the skin cells, which then causes the skin cells to darken or lose elastic integrity.

What Are Laser Treatments Like?

Laser treatments are non-invasive aesthetic therapies that will resurface and restore the appearance of the skin. PICO Genesis uses a dual-delivery system with SR energy to break down pigmented cells and induce the skin’s natural healing properties. This treatment is comfortable and well-tolerated, although some people may prefer to use a topical numbing cream for added comfort.

Most of the time, patients will need a minimum of three treatment sessions to achieve visible results. Patients who have severe pigment concerns may require additional treatments. Your treatments will usually be spaced about four weeks apart to allow for adequate healing between appointments.

Where Can You Use This Treatment?

PICO Genesis can be used for pigment correction for virtually all superficial pigment concerns. Even better, this laser treatment can also be used on virtually any area of the body, including areas with sensitive or thinner skin.

You can use this treatment on the face, neck, and upper chest, as well as the hands, arms, and shoulders. If you have other areas with sun damage or pigmentation concerns, please let us know during your consultation so we can create a treatment plan that will address all of your aesthetic concerns.

Will You Need a Consultation?

Consultations are always required before new aesthetic treatments can be included in your treatment plan. During your consultation, our skin experts carefully examine and analyze your skin to assess your skin concerns, skin type, and whether or not you are an ideal candidate for laser treatments. This step is important since some skin tones may not respond well to laser treatments.

How Should You Prepare for Treatment?

Preparing for any laser or energy-based treatment means you need to be careful about sun exposure. When your skin is exposed to the sun, it triggers melanin production that can last for several hours or days. To avoid any unwanted additional pigment or undesired results, it’s a good idea to avoid any skin-darkening activities at least one to two weeks before your appointment. This means you should avoid activities such as:

  • Sunbathing
  • Tanning beds
  • Self-tanning products

If you do need to be outside during the daytime, such as for outdoor sports or events, then you should be sure to wear strong SPF on any exposed skin. If your skin is damaged by the sun before your treatment, your appointment will need to be rescheduled until your skin is healed.

What Should You Do After Treatment?

After your treatment, your most important post-treatment direction is to avoid unprotected sun exposure. You will need to continue avoiding any skin-darkening activities for at least two to four weeks after your treatment. Wearing SPF 40 or higher is generally an ideal solution if you need to be outside during the daytime. Be sure to reapply SPF regularly if you are outside for long periods of time.

It’s also important to keep your skin moisturized after a laser treatment. Using gentle or simple moisturizers in treatment areas generally creates the best environment for skin healing. Products containing aloe vera, oatmeal, or hyaluronic acid are all ideal ingredients to have in your lotion or moisturizer.

What Are the Benefits of This Treatment?

There are several benefits to using laser treatments. For one thing, laser treatments are non-invasive, which means you will not need to worry about any discomfort, skin scarring, or other uncomfortable results after your treatment. Non-invasive treatments also have a much shorter recovery period than plastic surgery procedures. Other benefits for this treatment include:

Skin Tightening

One of the biggest side benefits of using the PICO Genesis laser treatment system is the fact that this treatment will also tighten your skin. PICO Genesis works by delivering energy directly to affected skin cells, which breaks down pigmented lesions, promotes cellular turnover, and stimulates collagen production along with other healing factors.

Renewed collagen production is the best way to tighten the skin. With more collagen, your skin will become more firm and elastic, so ultimately your skin will both look and feel younger. Additionally, increased collagen production in the skin is also associated with better, healthier-looking skin tones.

Few Treatments

There are very few treatments necessary for this laser system. While other laser systems may require six or more sessions to create significant improvements in the tone and texture of your skin, the PICO laser system for pigment correction really only needs one to three for most patients. The dramatic results of this treatment mean that you will be able to spot visible improvements in as little as one treatment.

Proven Treatment

PICO Genesis is a proven treatment. There have been several clinical studies conducted to assess the efficacy of this laser system for various skin conditions. For example, in at least one study, about 90% of people who used this treatment to reduce wrinkles and skin laxity were satisfied with their results.

Long-Lasting Results

After your initial round of treatments has been completed, you will be able to enjoy the results of this treatment for at least six to 12 months before you need to schedule a maintenance treatment. Your maintenance treatments will only require one annual session to maintain the collagen production and cellular turnover of your skin. We will help you identify the best treatment frequency for your needs.

That said, some results of this treatment may last for much longer than 12 months. For example, the treatment of mild to moderate scars may be permanently reduced or removed with this laser system. Pigmentation concerns can generally be treated for 12 months at a time or sometimes longer if you can maintain the overall health of your skin by using SPF when you are outside.

Restore the Even Tone of Your Skin With Pigment Correction Treatments

Topical skin-brightening products or make-up to cover up pigmentation concerns are only temporary solutions – and usually, the products are messy, expensive, and not as satisfying as promised. If you really want to make a dramatic improvement in the tone and texture of your skin, it may be time to turn to an energy-based pigment correction treatment. PICO Genesis is a versatile laser treatment that can fully restore the appearance of your skin. Contact us at Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ to schedule your consultation today.

What Is Cutera? https://princetonaesthetics.com/what-is-cutera/ Tue, 24 Aug 2021 00:00:00 +0000 https://p.mylstone.net/?p=481 When you’re trying to reach your body goals, stubborn fat can act as a roadblock between you and your ideal physique. If a healthy diet and consistent workout routine haven’t been able to eliminate your stubborn fat, we want to introduce you to a treatment that will. At Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, we offer TruSculpt iD by Cutera. This treatment will permanently eliminate fat cells from your problem areas so that you can finally achieve your dream body in the most non-invasive way possible.

What Is Cutera?

Cutera is the parent company that introduced the cosmetic world to TruSculpt iD, a body contouring treatment that targets stubborn fat in an effective yet completely noninvasive way. This company has created several different devices that perform other effective cosmetic treatments to help patients achieve various cosmetic goals.

Cutera is an innovative company that has been designing revolutionary cosmetic devices that have been helping both men and women achieve different cosmetic goals since 1998. It has become a trustworthy source for all things aesthetic thanks to its ability to continually produce effective and innovative treatment devices designed to treat both the face and body.

The Treatment Devices

Cutera’s treatment devices include machines that perform laser hair removal and tattoo removal treatments. Other machines can revitalize and resurface the skin and address vascular lesions. These treatment devices have helped millions of patients achieve their aesthetic goals without any downtime. At Princeton Aesthetics, we are proud to offer our patients the ability to treat their problem areas and target and eliminate stubborn fat with Cutera’s renowned body contouring treatment, TruSculpt ID.

This body contouring treatment uses radiofrequency technology to heat fat cells, destroy them, and eliminate them permanently. It does what the gym and your diet have not been able to do, significantly reducing the total fat volume in your treatment areas by up to 24 percent.

What Is TruSculpt iD?

TruSculpt iD is a body contouring treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to heat fat cells and destroy them while simultaneously tightening the skin by increasing collagen and elastin production. It helps treat stubborn fat in different areas of the body, tighten the skin, and helps improve some of your most problematic body areas.

What Can It Treat?

TruSculpt iD helps you sculpt your best possible body. This innovative device offers patients the ability to completely customize their treatment to their unique needs. It can treat the entire abdomen or multiple areas of the body at the same time. It can also treat both larger and smaller areas of the body, and it requires absolutely no downtime.

How Does It Work?

Cutera’s TruSculpt iD uses 2MHZ Monopolar radiofrequency technology to treat the entire layer of fat, from the skin’s surface to the muscle. During the treatment, the machine, which is fitted with real-time temperature control, heats the fat cells in the treatment area to a maximum of 48°F. As the treatment device heats the fat cells, they’re damaged and go through an apoptosis process—the body then naturally eliminates these fat cells over several weeks.

Your technician can customize your treatment with the different hand pieces to help you get the best possible results. By placing the hand pieces in different locations of the body, the TruSculpt iD technician can help treat patients with varying degrees of fat densities and skin laxity. TruSculpt iD is effective for all different skin types, and it’s fitted with an advanced control panel to help the technician treat your problem areas with accuracy and precision.

Is It Safe?

We have chosen to use this body contouring treatment device because it provides patients with a safe and effective way to target and treat stubborn pockets of fat in different areas of the body.

TruSculpt iD by Cutera is a treatment that’s been clinically proven to permanently destroy fat cells and help patients reach their body goals. It’s a safe and effective treatment that destroys fat cells without the need for invasive treatments like liposuction or surgery.

How Much Fat Will I Lose?

This treatment is not a weight-loss treatment, but it will help address and eliminate stubborn fat. Most patients lose an average of 24 percent of the total fat volume in their treatment area within four to twelve weeks of their initial treatment. You can use a measuring tape to track your results and your fat loss after your treatment on a weekly basis. While you may not lose a significant amount of weight, you will lose inches as your body eliminates the dead fat cells.

What Happens During a Treatment?

TruSculpt iD treatments are not only quick but simple. When you arrive at our office, you may be asked to remove jewelry, including earrings or other body piercings, since this treatment does use radiofrequency energy to treat the fat cells. To begin, your technician will apply the hand piece to the surface of your skin.

Targeting and Treating Fat Cells

Once the device is activated, the hand piece will send focused radiofrequency energy pulses deep into the skin to target the entire layer of fat from the skin’s surface to the muscles. Each pulsing sensation may last several minutes. Patients will feel a warm sensation in their treatment area but will not feel any pain. Your technician can adjust the temperature of the device to help you maintain optimal comfort throughout the treatment.

You will not need any topical numbing cream to make it through this treatment but instead can lay back and enjoy the session. TruSculpt iD gives you the ability to target and destroy the most stubborn fat cells that are resistant to diet and fitness in the most relaxing way possible.

How Long Do Treatments Take?

One of the benefits of this body contouring treatment is that sessions only take 15 minutes to complete. You can schedule your treatments at a time that works best for you, and you won’t have to worry about your appointment monopolizing your entire day. Fifteen minutes to sustained fat loss is far shorter than any training session at the gym or a group fitness class, but it will deliver results.

Is There Any Downtime?

Once your appointment is over, you can walk out of our office knowing that you have begun a fat-burning process and will see results within the next 12 weeks. You can resume all of your normal daily activities and even go to the gym. You won’t have to plan around any recovery or downtime, but you can count on results.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most patients achieve results after just one treatment. Those who want to treat larger areas of the body may require more than one session with a few months between each treatment to achieve the best results. Results do vary from patient to patient, and we can provide you with a better idea of how many sessions you will need, what type of results you can expect, and how soon you can expect to see results during an initial consultation.

Who Is a Candidate?

This treatment can target stubborn fat almost anywhere on the body, regardless of your body type or shape. Both men and women who are in good health and are committed to a healthy lifestyle to help maintain their results make good candidates for this treatment. An initial consultation is the best way to confirm your treatment candidacy.

Some patients will not qualify for TruSculpt iD. Pregnant and nursing women are temporarily excluded from treatment due to safety precautions. Additionally, those who have tumors in the treatment areas or have cardiac pacemakers or metal implants in their body will not qualify for treatment.

Sculpt Your Best Body

TruSculpt iD by Cutera provides an effective way to finally reach your body goals without undergoing an invasive surgical procedure. It’s a treatment that will help you finally address those areas with stubborn fat so you can feel more confident in your appearance. Contact us today at Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, to find out more and to schedule an initial consultation with one of our experts who will further explain TruSculpt iD and how it can help you.

How Does Emsculpt Tone and Contour Your Body at the Same Time? https://princetonaesthetics.com/how-does-emsculpt-tone-and-contour-your-body-at-the-same-time/ Mon, 04 Nov 2019 00:00:00 +0000 https://princetonaesth.wpengine.com/?p=197 Millions of Americans suffer from stubborn pockets of body fat. Sometimes, no matter how many carbs we cut or how many times we hit the gym, we just can’t quite get rid of these problem areas. If that sounds like you, it’s time to stop despairing. This is where body contouring treatments come in: these popular techniques use recent technology to melt away fat almost like magic. One of the most popular forms of body contouring, and one offered by us at Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, is called EmSculpt.

EmSculpt is unique among body contouring treatments because it can not only melt away fat, but also tone muscle at the same time. It can flatten out a belly, firm and round a behind, or make thighs more muscular than ever, all with just a few quick, painless, half-hour treatments. This might sound impossible, but it’s all down to this treatment’s unique technology. In this article, we’ll tell you all about how this exciting body contouring technique works and help you determine whether it’s the right solution for you.

What Is EmSculpt?

When you hear the phrase “quick fix,” your mind might automatically associate it with another word: scam. We’ve all seen those late-night commercials for various fast fixes for belly fat. But this treatment is the real deal, and it’s backed by FDA approval.

EmSculpt is a non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment that uses electromagnetic technology to both eliminate fat cells and strengthen muscles in the area of treatment. It’s usually used on the belly, butt, and thighs, although it can be used elsewhere on the body. In order to understand how it works, we first have to explore how fat in the human body works.

The Science Behind Body Fat

Body fat is stored in fat cells. You might think that losing weight would cause you to lose fat cells while gaining weight would cause you to gain fat cells. Surprisingly that’s not how it works. In fact, the number of fat cells in the body remains more or less constant after adolescence. Once we’re grown up, our body doesn’t make new fat cells unless we’re gaining weight at a rapid rate.

Instead, fat cells shrink or expand depending on how much fat they have to store. If we gain weight, our bodies will store nutrients in the form of fat in these fat cells and they’ll expand. If we lose weight, our bodies will break down the fat stored in those cells and use its nutrients. In other words, you might be in tip-top shape, but unless you’re doing extreme workouts those fat cells aren’t going anywhere. That’s why most people have stubborn pockets of fat that fail to respond to diet and exercise.

In order to get rid of stubborn fat on the belly, butt, thighs, and other areas once and for all, we have to kill the fat cells. That’s where EmSculpt comes in.

How Does It Work?

EmSculpt uses a device that emits electromagnetic pulses, which trigger something called “supramaximal contractions,” meaning they are impossible to achieve using voluntary muscle contractions. In fact, the “E” and “M” in the name refer to the electromagnetic technology in this treatment. This technology forces the muscles in the treated area to do 20,000 contractions in just a half-hour; far more than you could achieve on your own. This would be like doing 20,000 situps in the same amount of time.

These extreme contractions force the body to adapt. It does so in much the same way it adapts to exercise but in an accelerated fashion. The muscle tissue restructures itself, making it stronger and more toned. As it does, it releases enzymes that tell the body to break down fat in the surrounding area. Your body needs that fat to keep up with the contractions, and it needs a lot of it quickly. That’s why these enzymes don’t just use fat: they break the fat cells down entirely.

That’s right: those fat cells we talked about above that are so hard to get rid of? This treatment forces your body to kill them outright. Once those cells are destroyed, the body will process them over time, flushing them out and leaving the treated area more toned and muscular than ever. One study found a 23% reduction in fat in the treated area three months post-treatment, and a 15% increase in abdominal muscle after two months. Results can continue to develop and improve over the course of six months.

The EmSculpt Treatment

What Is It Like?

This treatment is basically a superhuman workout for the treated area, and it largely feels like that – except you’re lying down and relaxing the entire time. If your abdominal area is the spot undergoing treatment, here’s how it works: the applicator rests on your belly and cycles through its program. This involves two modes of intensity: one that contracts the muscles a hundred times every couple seconds, and one that contracts them a thousand times every couple seconds. A third phase causes the muscles to contract slowly and deliberately.

People who undergo this treatment describe it largely as odd. Your body isn’t built to contract its muscles like this, so while it’s not dangerous in any way, it will certainly feel unnatural. Your muscles might be a little sore post-treatment, just as they would after a strenuous workout, but that’s the worst side effect you can expect.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

Each treatment lasts a half-hour, and it’s recommended each patient undergo four treatments over a two-week period, spaced a few days apart each. Each of these treatments lasts the requisite thirty minutes, which means you’ll be able to get a flatter, more muscular tummy in just two hours spaced over two weeks. With zero recovery downtime, you could even get these treatments over your lunch break and head right back to work, with no one the wiser!

In the end, the number of treatments you need is down to what kind of results you want to see and how many sessions it takes to achieve those results. To find out, talk to one of our professionals at Princeton Aesthetics.

How Long Until I See Results?

As mentioned above, it can take some time for your results to fully manifest. That’s because it takes time for your body to process and remove the dead fat cells and because your abdominal muscles are undergoing a deep restructuring. Some people will see their results continue to improve up to six months after their last treatment. As the body removes the fat cells and the muscles grow stronger, the treated area will grow firmer. If it’s your belly, you’ll see it flatten out over time, and you won’t have to do a thing but stick to your normal diet and exercise routine.

Are the Results Permanent?

How long your results last will depend largely on how active your lifestyle is. As we talked about above, four treatments will reduce the fat cells in the treated area by roughly 23% over three months; that means there are plenty of fat cells left that could expand if left unchecked. If you maintain a good diet and exercise regimen, there’s no reason to expect your results to disappear anytime soon.

Some people, however, choose to undergo EmSculpt more than once, returning for regular maintenance treatments. If the muscles that are treated aren’t worked out regularly, they won’t be maintained, so some people go back for additional treatment rather than adding an exercise regimen to their routine. These treatments, however, are far less frequent than the initial treatment. Maintenance can be done as frequently as once a month to as infrequently as once a year.

What Makes a Good Candidate for EmSculpt?

This treatment might be the rare quick-fix miracle, but it’s not a fix for everyone. Generally, the treatment won’t be administered to people under 21 years of age, for example. Women who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant should inform their practitioner during their consultation, as it may affect their candidacy. Here are some other ways to know if this treatment is right for you:

You Are Already in Good Shape

It’s important to note with body contouring treatments like this that they are not cures for obesity, nor are they weight loss treatments. They are purely cosmetic in nature, intended to provide aesthetic results that make the patient more comfortable in their own skin. That means that this treatment is best suited for people who are in decent shape and already at or near their ideal body weight.

You Are Physically Active

As we discussed above, this treatment kills plenty of fat cells but not all of them. That means that there’s always potential for the fat cells remaining in the treated area to expand again, covering up the results of the treatment. If you don’t currently exercise and eat well, you’ll risk your results disappearing over time. If you are physically active and maintain a healthy diet though, you can expect your results to stick with you for as long as you keep your health-focused lifestyle.

You Have Ruled Out Surgical Options

Invasive surgical procedures like liposuction have their time and place, but they come with a lot of caveats, including a high price tag and plenty of downtime. If you already know that a surgical body contouring option is not right for you, this treatment might be a great option. There are other body contouring treatments out there, but this one is the most painless, and it’s the only one that strengthens and tones muscle at the same time that it burns fat.

You Are Sick of Stubborn Body Fat

Pockets of body fat are perfectly normal and natural. Most people don’t look like Hollywood celebrities, and that’s okay. If, however, you are frustrated with your body fat and have been trying to rid yourself of it through diet and exercise to no avail, this treatment could provide you with the change you’ve been striving for.

Conclusion

This FDA-approved treatment seems almost too good to be true, but professionals and patients alike all over the country are embracing it. Unlike liposuction, it’s non-invasive and requires zero downtime. You can get a treatment over your lunch break and be back at work in no time. In just a few short weeks, the stubborn body fat you’ve been trying to get rid of for years will melt away, leaving tones muscle behind, all thanks to this stunning technological innovation.

If this sounds like the fix you’ve been looking for, give Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton, NJ a call and set up a consultation to learn more.

Laser Tattoo Removal: How Long Does the Process Take? https://princetonaesthetics.com/laser-tattoo-removal-how-long-does-the-process-take/ Mon, 07 Oct 2019 00:00:00 +0000 https://princetonaesth.wpengine.com/?p=181 Every tattoo seems like a good idea in the moment, but we are delightfully fickle creatures. Our opinions and attitudes often change with time, and tattoos serve as a reminder of the past. This reminder is one that many people don’t want. If the inked imagery or words you once loved no longer fit the person you’ve become, laser tattoo removal is the solution. At Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, we offer industry-leading technology to remove unwanted tattoos.

What Is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser tattoo removal is the process of extracting tattoo ink from the skin to reveal the clear and natural skin underneath. A significant portion of the US population has at least one tattoo, and later many people end up regretting their decision.

Instead of living a life of regret, many people are turning to laser technology to remove the memories for good.

Why Do People Get Tattoos Removed?

People remove tattoos for a variety of reasons that usually align with the reason they got the tattoo in the first place. Some people commemorate certain times, people, and beliefs with tattoos. Other people get tattoos on a whim without putting too much thought into it.

Change is one of the beautiful things about being human; we change, and at least in the context of tattoos, we have option to change the outside to reflect the inside. Below we look at some of the most common reasons people decide to remove a tattoo.

Change of Heart

Although slightly less common now, it was once fashionable to tattoo a love interest’s name or other symbolic representation of the romance on the body. After a breakup, this once sweet gesture can turn sour and require tattoo removal to remedy.

Shifting Values

What we want at 18 is often very different from what we want by middle age. Beliefs may change in the realms of religion or affiliations or general attitude. All these changes can make tattoos undesirable. These tattoos, along with those of the offensive variety, are some of the most commonly removed tattoos.

Business Casual

No matter how common tattoos become, there are still many work environments that don’t view tattoos favorably. Some people with visible tattoos struggle to find work and others want to remove tattoos to achieve a greater sense of professionalism.

Aesthetic Dilemma

Tattoo techniques have improved over the years, but some older tattoos haven’t aged well. Sometimes people get a tattoo that doesn’t turn out as they wanted. Misspellings or a subpar tattooing technique can result in people turning to tattoo removal for help.

Time Travel

Tattoos often serve as a reminder of specific times, places, people, and feelings that many people would just as soon forget. People who are fed up with the constant reminders scribbled on their skin find freedom from the tattoo removal process.

Removing a tattoo is a liberating experience no matter why you want it gone. Below we look at the laser tattoo removal service we offer our clients at Princeton Aesthetics.

Which Laser Technology Is Used?

Scientists created impeccable laser tattoo removal technology in response to the growing number of people who want to remove tattoos. At Princeton Aesthetics, we use only the most advanced Cutera technology to clear and rejuvenate skin. We use the world’s leading Enlighten laser for safe, fast, and effective tattoo removal.

About Cutera Enlighten

Enlighten by Cutera is the premier tattoo removal system that uses short pulses in three laser wavelengths to break pigment into microscopic particles. Tattoos are no match for the powerful Enlighten laser, which has the power to rid the skin of all ink colors and ink particle sizes.

As one of the most renowned names in aesthetic technology, this system safely and effectively removes tattoo pigmentation and benign skin pigmentation.

How Does Cutera Enlighten Work?

This one-of-a-kind non-thermal laser uses photo-mechanical power to target cell pigmentation and shatter it while leaving the surrounding cells and tissue untouched. During your session, we direct the laser to the tattoo, and it penetrates the skin with a light beam.

When this beam of light interacts with the ink, it breaks the ink down into tiny, fragmented particles. As the ink particles break down, the inked lines and colors break up. Clear, tattoo-free skin appears after repeated sessions and repeated exposure to the particle blasting laser.

This technology works with the size of the ink particles. We use nanosecond pulses to break up large ink particles, and picosecond pulses to remove the particles altogether. While the laser rids the skin of pigmentation, it’s also working double-time to deliver deep skin restructuring. Removing unwanted tattoos with Cutera Enlighten reveals gorgeously clear skin where your ink once was.

No other tattoo removal laser offers the precision results of the Cutera Enlighten. Along with most other experts, we consider it the safest, fastest, and most effective laser for removing tattoos and correcting melasma and other skin pigmentation issues.

What Makes Enlighten Better Than Other Tattoo Removing Lasers?

What makes Enlighten different is that it uses both nanosecond and picosecond pulses. Most other lasers only use nanosecond pulses, which doesn’t remove ink particles as efficiently. Enlighten’s picosecond technology removes more ink particles in fewer treatments than alternative lasers.

How Long Is a Session?

Getting a tattoo is often a long process that can last anywhere from a few minutes to multiple hours. The removal process doesn’t work this way. Tattoo removal sessions can last anywhere from five to thirty minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo.

If you are visiting us to remove multiple tattoos, your sessions are longer than when removing only one. However, they are still often much shorter than the time to get the tattoo.

Can a Tattoo Be Removed in One Session?

Deciding to remove a tattoo is exciting. If you are like many of our clients, you are eager to see your new clear skin, fast. Unlike the immediate results given when getting a tattoo, though, tattoo removal is a process that happens over time.

Depending on the size, coloration, depth, and age of your tattoo, the effects of the laser may not be as noticeable as you expect after one session. How prominent the results are will depend on the tattoo. Hearing this news is often disappointing to clients, but the sooner you start your treatment, the faster you’ll see the results you want.

One way to track treatment progress is to photograph your tattoo before and after each treatment and again a few weeks later. This gives you a visual record of how the laser removal process is working. One treatment may be sufficient for your removal needs, but it may take more than one treatment to reach your aesthetic goals.

Are Some Tattoos More Difficult to Remove Than Others?

Really dark and deep tattoos are more difficult to remove than lighter tattoos. We can still remove them, but they often take on a blurry shape before fading. Different colors respond better to different laser pulses, and that’s one reason we use the Cutera Enlighten technology.

How Long Does the Process Take?

How long the process takes depends on the client and the tattoo or tattoos scheduled for removal. Each of our clients has different needs, and we cater to these needs on an individual basis.

The best way to find out how long the process takes is to schedule an in-person consultation with us. During your consultation, our experts will assess your skin and tattoos to give you more detailed information about the process. We tailor your treatment plan to provide the best results possible.

In general, clients need at least three to six sessions to remove each tattoo. After every session, you must allow the area to heal for at least before receiving another session. With these numbers in mind, it takes a minimum of 12 to 24 weeks, on average, to remove a tattoo. Clients with larger tattoos, more tattoos, or special ink may expect an extended treatment duration.

This is just an average, and you may see results in fewer treatments. All tattoos respond slightly differently to laser technology. Schedule your consultation today to learn more about how our laser removal treatment for tattoos can serve you.

What Happens After Each Session?

Similarly to what happens after getting a tattoo, we dress the area with a bandage and give you instructions on how to protect the area in the coming days. You might have some familiar itching on the area when it heals.

Is There Any Way to Speed Up Tattoo Removal?

Unless you are a smoker, there isn’t much you can do to remove your tattoo faster. Smoking actually increases the likelihood of needing more treatments to remove tattoos and increases the time required for healing. If you are a smoker who wants to remove a tattoo, quitting could speed up the removal process substantially.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

Throughout your tattoo removal treatment process, you must take measures to protect the area from the sun by keeping it covered with clothing or using a high-quality sunblock. We recommend that you avoid swimming, long baths, or any prolonged submersion in water during tattoo removal treatment. When towel drying, pat the area dry instead of rubbing it to maintain the best treatment results.

Is There Any Downtime?

Because we use state-of-the-art Cutera Enlighten technology instead of traditional ablative therapies, you won’t experience much, if any, downtime after treatment.

How Much Does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?

Much like getting a tattoo, pricing for laser treatment depends on the size and intricacy of the tattoo. Someone with a small and simple tattoo will pay less than someone who wants to remove a sleeve. Book a consultation with our tattoo removal experts to learn more about pricing.

Is Laser Tattoo Removal Right for Me?

This treatment is right for anyone who, for any reason, wants to remove a tattoo. Having regrets about getting your tattoo is normal, and many people are in the same position as you. We treat clients of all ages, genders, and circumstances to help them leave the past behind.

We are unable to treat pregnant or nursing women and individuals with bacterial infections or open wounds on or around the treatment site. We kindly ask these individuals to wait to book treatment until these factors are no longer relevant.

Don’t let regret hold you back; step into the next stage of your life by removing a tattoo. Contact us at Princeton Aesthetics in Princeton Junction, NJ, to learn more about laser tattoo removal or to book a consultation. We look forward to hearing from you!

truSculpt iD: Is It Right for Me? https://princetonaesthetics.com/trusculpt-id-is-it-right-for-me/ Mon, 23 Sep 2019 09:00:31 +0000 https://princetonaesth.wpengine.com/?p=194 Most of us have at least one area of our bodies that has unwanted fat on it despite our best efforts. You may even watch what you eat and exercise every day and still have fat clinging to certain areas. If you’re sick and tired of unwanted fat that has been unresponsive to your fat loss attempts, it may be time to consider truSculpt iD. This body contouring treatment may be just what you’ve been looking for to finally achieve your goals for your figure.

The Problem with Stubborn Fat

In order to understand why truSculpt iD works, it helps to know why fat can be so stubborn in the first place. In most cases, diet and exercise alone are unable to get rid of all your unwanted fat because these methods can only shrink the fat cells; they can’t actually break down the fat cells. Many men and women diet and exercise for years only to be disappointed in the end.

How truSculpt iD Can Help

This innovative body contouring treatment uses focused radiofrequency energy in order to heat the adipose tissue in the treatment area. This ultimately breaks down the fat and tightens the skin, leading to a better appearance overall. The results tend to develop in the months following the treatment. This helps the changes to look natural, as your friends and family members may simply think that your diet and exercise efforts are finally starting to pay off.

Get the Best of Both Worlds with Body Contouring and Skin Revitalization https://princetonaesthetics.com/get-the-best-of-both-worlds-with-body-contouring-and-skin-revitalization/ Mon, 16 Sep 2019 09:00:35 +0000 https://princetonaesth.wpengine.com/?p=185 Non-surgical body contouring and skin revitalization procedures have not always been so popular, largely because they are so new. Plus, in recent years, the stigma formerly associated with cosmetic procedures has faded, and more and more men and women are increasingly able to take advantage of procedures to enhance their appearance without any concern for negative feedback or side effects. If you need some toning and contouring, you may wish to consider undergoing a body contouring and/or skin revitalization procedure to enhance your appearance and boost your self-esteem.

What is Skin Revitalization?

Skin revitalization helps to address discoloration on the skin. Skin discoloration can be caused by a number of factors, including thinning skin, sun damage, loss of subcutaneous fat, heredity, smoking, and stress. With the right skin revitalization procedure, natural skin tone can be improved or restored. This leads to a better appearance overall.

What About Body Contouring?

Even though you may be exercising and dieting correctly, your abdomen may prove the most challenging area to tone. Perhaps you are dealing with a stubborn backside as well. Extreme weight fluctuations or the aging process can really take a toll on the muscles and skin in your abdominal and buttocks areas, causing them to retain excess fat. No matter what has caused this condition, sometimes no amount of core exercises or green smoothies can help you achieve the results that you are looking for.

A body contouring procedure like EMSCULPT can be used to help you tone your abdomen and buttocks. This will have a transforming effect on your appearance, helping you appear more toned and youthful.

Is There Any Recovery Period?

The great thing about our body contouring and skin revitalization treatments is that there is no set recovery period required. This makes the treatments great options for patients who have busy schedules. You may be given some post-procedure instructions on how to get the best results, but there’s no real downtime required.
